BEHAVIOUR

  • All stallholders are expected to behave professionally and respectfully towards both members of the public and fellow traders at all times. Any form of inappropriate behaviour - including, but not limited to, unwanted physical contact, harassment, intimidation, or offensive language - will not be tolerated. Complaints of this nature will be taken seriously and may result in immediate removal from the event and exclusion from future markets

AUTHENTICITY

  • All stallholders are required to ensure that the items they sell at the market are  accurately described.

  • A small number of sellers of niche products will be permitted
  • Makers and Creators should ensure that at lease 75% of their products are “created” and not simply bought in for resale

INFRASTRUCTURE - safety is our priority

  • Stallholders are responsible for providing their own infrastructure (tables, gazebos, display equipment) and ensuring it is fit for purpose.  (We are a street market and if  your gazebo ends up in the road because of a strong gust of wind, please remember you are responsible for any damage caused to members of the public,  structures or passing/ parked vehicles)

  • All  structures must be properly weighted and stable. A minimum of 12kg professional weights for each leg of a gazebo is required  and we recommend a commercial standard gazebo. Recent experience with strong gusts of wind on a calm day  shows that light weight “ garden gazebos” are easily shredded  or lifted, even when weighted. We reserve the right to request removal of any unsafe or unsuitable setup.

 WASTE

  • All waste must be removed from site, at the end of the day. Bags/ Boxes  of rubbish, must not be left on the High Street, even adjacent to the High Street rubbish bins.

BAD  WEATHER

  • If a weather warning is issued by the Met Office, we will consider  closing the Market.
  • If a weather warning is issued by the Met Office where wind speeds, or gusts of wind, are predicted to reach  35mph  or above the market will be cancelled
  • Where a weather warning is issued more than 48 hours before a market event, no decision will be made until 48 hours before the market event takes place.
